Abstract

In order to measure the friction coefficient(FC)between gun propellant particles and explore its influence on loading density, the gun propellant particles coated with graphite were taken as the research object. The static friction coefficient(SFC)was measured by using traditional cant instrument. To measure the rolling friction coefficient(RFC),the accumulation process of granular gun propellants was simulated based on discrete element method, and the linear fitting equation of simulation angle of repose with RFC was obtained. Based on the test angle of repose, the method of parameter calibration was used to get the parameter value. The quadric fitting result shows that the measurement method is feasible. The simulation results show that the angle of repose increases with the increase of the RFC. The influence of FC on loading density was studied by means of loading module simulation. The results show that the number of particles and the loading density in module decrease with the increase of the FC. The FC has an important influence on the loading density.
