Abstract

In order to improve the flight stability of the armor-piercing projectile fired by the rifled artillery, and effectively reduce the projectile speed during launch, based on the traditional elastic belt, a new type of sliding belt with double-layer plastic(nylon)was applied to the anti-rotation device of the projectile, and its experimental verification and simulation analysis were carried out. The force of sliding belt during the engraving process was simulated by using SIMULATION software. The simulation results show that the outer belt is the main stressed part, and the stress is large, and as a result, the deformation is still large. After the test, the rifling marks of the recovered outer belt are obvious, but compared with the traditional single-layer belt, the rotating speed of the projectile is reduced form 4 000 r/min to 1 949 r/min by using sliding belt with double-layer composite structure, and the test and simulation analysis are basically consistent, which can basically meet the requirements of the tail stability of the armor-piercing projectile fired by rifled gun, and has a certain improvement effect. Based on the structural scheme and experimental analysis of the double-layer belt, the influence of the force and deformation of the outer belt on the stability of the projectile in flight was fully considered, and a new type of sliding belt with three-layer composite structure was designed, which was composed of plastic outer belt, plastic inner belt and metal inner belt. The optimized simulation results show that, the metal lined belt becomes the main stressed part, which effectively reduces the stress on the outer belt, and the anti-rotation effect of projectile is optimized.
